We had 2 days of beautiful sunrises -- Mackenzie said "the sky is pink", "the sky is purple", and it was, then it changed to oranges and yellows! Beautiful, yes!
On the day it was rainy, we went to explore the caverns of Ruby Falls -- after all the years we lived in Georgia, this was the first visit ever for most of us in the group. The 3 little cave hikers were super-troopers - here they paused for a brief photo shoot - they are perched on a rock ledge about 4 feet off the ground:
After about a half mile hike (I think) we were rewarded with the star attraction, Ruby Falls - the highest underground waterfall in the U.S. - at 145 feet, located inside Lookout Mountain (I snapped the purplish photos, but the golden hued one was done by a pro):
Cave visitors taking the path back out to the real world are called "Survivors" -- so here's our group of happy Survivors! The little ones were much more interested in the waterfall, so we get to see the backs of their heads (sigh):
Back at the cabin,
"Pa" spent some time with Sara & Seth's 2 kids, demonstrating that he is ready and willing to handle 2 grandkids at once (even a boy and a girl, perfect!).
