Hidden Hollow Happenin'

First off, I really need to get the whole Picasa (or similar) thing going, so that all my pictures aren't pasted on these posts so crazy.....but, for now, this is the best it gets.

We had a great "long weekend" at our second annual Hidden Hollow rustic cabin -- not sure if we've started a tradition, but this is the 2nd year we've spent President's Day (and coincidentally Valentine's Day) weekend doing some maintenance on our Lookout Mountain property. This year we were helped out by Scott & DeAnne, Aubrey, Jason (DeAnne's brother), and Seth, Sara, and baby Kyla McLeod. I think the married ladies were great sports to spend Valentine's with our crew -- I think DeAnne at least has a Romantic Raincheck she gets to cash in this coming weekend to make up for it.

We did spend one of the days trolling through Chattanooga -- they have done some pretty cool things around the town -- years past it has been pretty much the Tennessee Aquarium or bust. There were the always the age-old sights of Rock City and Ruby Falls, but they have added a lot more to see and do, especially down along the river. We couldn't do it all, but here's some of the sights of the city we enjoyed:

The "Arts" district -- we didn't go in their awesome looking art museum, built on the edge of a cliff, but the area around it was really neat there was a "glass" bridge leading up to the museum area -- kinda fun to see the cars and trucks come right under you There was an "older" section of the museum, traditional southern architecture with columns and all, plus a traditional cute couple in front:

















And since I LOVE fountains, I took a picture of this cozy little courtyard and fountain between some of the quaint little shops in the Bluff View Arts district (I also love spiral stairs)We walked across the "world's longest" pedestrian bridge (nice views of the river below)








Saw the "world's coolest" (my opinion) parking meter, which was located no where near a parking spot

We rode the "world's steepest" train, The Incline Railroad (look out below)

The front of the car crew (below) were the brave souls, others of us had our toushies glued to the very, very, very back of the train car













And we saw, but didn't walk, run or skateboard down, the "world's craziest" sidewalk -- I hope this wasn't designed to assist people in wheelchairs! Yes, we pretty much played hearty and had fun, then were ready for snoozing -- Kyla was the best at the snoozing activities:
